Help me! (San Francisco related) →[More:] A friend from out of town is coming to hang out with me tomorrow night (Saturday). He wants to do something "crazy" or out there or very California or ... I was hoping he was coming Friday night because I miraculously had a party invitation for that night, but no, it's Saturday night. Is there anything going on that is sufficiently "alt" or weird or ...? Robot wars? Zombie march? All-night costume party? I hate to come clean with my boring life.

It's during the day, and my recommendation is based solely on the fact that I overheard one of the monks talking it up on the bus on my way into work, but apparently they're crowning/confirming/something-ing the reincarnation of the Buddha in the Mission tomorrow afternoon. Bus Monk said they expected 600,000 people, but I can't vouch for his accuracy.

Fun Cheap SF is also showing a sailing thing going on all day.

Also, it's the weekend before Pride, isn't it? I would imagine that just hanging out in the Castro might be fairly crazy this Saturday night (unless all the residents have already left town?).

When I was in SF ages ago, The Bottom of the Hill and Cafe du Nord were really good hang out spots.
