I am completely alone in the office this morning, for reasons I am not sure of, so to celebrate/make sure, I just farted as loudly as I possibly could. There were no repercussions. Question: should I take my pants off?

Well, people have shown up now, but I'm told we may be getting new office mates today, so I'm still thinking about going pantless.

What I hate more than pants, though, is that the word has become singular in many stores, i.e., "pant." I think next time I go shopping I'm going to ask for something in a 31-waist britch.

Does anyone know why pants is plural? It drives me crazy to not know - likewise trousers, knickers, britches, underpants, shorts....

I work at home so I could go pantless every day. But it just doesn't seem as fun when there's no risk. I'm going to make sure that my next job is in a big office, and in the interview when they ask "Why do you want to work here?" I'll reply "Because I want to work without pants on - and ENJOY it!!!"

middleclasstool - it has something to do with the days when all clothes were tailored - pants and underpants were actually 2 pieces that were fastened together with buttons or ties.
