I just heard this crazy song on WFMU -- what was it? [More:]It was done in a very loungy style, but with occasional electronics thrown into the mix (e.g., the male singer's voice got all distorted at one point). The lyrics talked about a hurricane, and all the things that would be or were destroyed by the hurricane. A common refrain started with

"Red and green, we . . . / Blue and green, we . . . "

I think at one point, it was something like "red and green we call the wind gods" and another was something like "blue and green we paint the wreckage floating by."

Any ideas?
Have you checked WFMU's webste? They're pretty good about logging playlists.

Darn it, no playlist for this show (Gaylord Fields).

Check in a couple days. They archive everything.

Oh, yeah, that's true. Thanks for talking me down. :)

Ok, the archive's up. Scott Walker. At least I think so, from what the DJ said. There were actually two songs -- "plastic package people" and the one that followed (unless it's part of the same song, which would be even more mind-blowing) -- and it's the second that latter that caught my ear.
