ARRRGGGGH!!! [More:]

I just broke my beautiful, wonderful, one-of-a-kind irreplaceable green glass tankard.

I've had it for 25 years, and it used to be my glass of choice for beer, but in recent years it's been my sparkling water tankard. It was perfect to have by the computer because it couldn't be knocked over.

Five minutes ago, not realising I'd left it on the floor, I kicked it across the parquet and it now has a big crack right through it.

Awwwwww....I hate that. I hate when something you love finally breaks.

It looks like a clear glass - can you fill it with something beautiful like pretty rocks or tiny seashells or marbles, and keep it on your desk to look at? Not as good, I know, but you can still enjoy it.

Yes, I'll keep it, and weep every time I look at it :-(

Seashells is a good idea. I have a couple, and it gives me an excuse to go to the coast.

That sucks, essexjan. I'm sorry about your glass.

I have glasses that I love to drink everything out of. They are stemless wine glasses but they are perfect for all sorts of beverages. Anything else is not as good. I can feel your pain. Can you search for one similar on Ebay, or is it really one of a kind?

I'm looking at this on eBay, and have just emailed the seller to find out the capacity, as it's not clear from the dimensions given.

Mine is truly one of a kind :-(

Oh no! That's too bad. I like Sil's idea, though.

That happened to me recently. I had a wind-up clock, from the cheap junk toys made-in-china you buy when you're high store, that a girl-friend had given me in college. I knocked it off the bedside table and the hands are now permanently at the mercy of gravity. I don't even know what search terms to use to find a replacement on the internets!

Blah, that is the worst. Keep an eye out for lookalikes, and yeah keep the poor thing.

Maybe the universe is telling you it's time for a new one? Bummer though. Like losing a favorite pair of jeans or something.

It was perfect to have by the computer

Should we tell her about the "computer"?

I hate it when things like that happen. Naturally, I can't think of any examples at the moment, but I know I have lots.
