I'm excited. I'm buying a guitar tomorrow![More:]What about you? Anything exciting going on?
No. But thanks for asking.

Oh, wait. There are fireworks in the park tomorrow night. But it's supposed to be hella hot, so I'm not even sure that we'll go. So. Maybe exciting, considering.

Eh, potential for fireworks is certainly more exciting than no fireworks. And who knows, maybe weather will actually cooperate.

S'posed to be 102 tomorrow. And windy. Fireworks may be cancelled. But here's hoping.

Anyway, I'm excited about your guitar. What kind?? Yay!

Oh my yes, I'm just all a-quiver at the prospect of my 12 hour workday tomorrow. Plus, I'll be spending the first two hours of it in a mandatory all-hands meeting on a topic that just barely scrapes the outside edge of my job description.

Do not adjust your monitor - that's just excess bile.

(Actually, I got a whiff of what will probably be really good news, but I'm not yet sure what form it will be taking. At any rate it remains unofficial for the moment.)

On preview: yes, yay for new guitars!

Les Paul Junior. Looking forward to ROCKING OUT!!1!, although it's my first guitar so that might be a while. :P

WTF? We just got back from a camping trip in south Georgia/Alabama where we FROZE because we didn't think to take long pants. And San Fran is hitting 102 in May?

Climate gone crazy/OMG/We all gonna die.

BP, the lovely and talented pup resides in the glorious Central Valley, where it gets much much hotter than SF.

I got to see both the hardcover and paper editions of a huge book project which dominated my life for the last three+ years. It's a huge relief to be finished.

Iggy Pop's "The Passenger". Learn it, love it, rock the fuck out to it. Four chords, full of la la las.

(((BoPo))) A week-long vacation shouldn't end on Wednesday!

Tomorrow I'm motorcycling to NH for the weekend with a bunch of major babes.

What kinda guitar, TeePs? Are ya gonna take lessons or do you already know how to play?

After a week and a half of extreme financial panic (like, we're gonna hafta sell the damn house panic), there are a few rays of hope starting to poke through. I morphed my business and have some referral help (3 leads so far!), and am networking like a frenzied tornado. Plus, the contract I had earlier in the year woke up after ignoring me for weeks and wants to have lunch on Monday, hopefully not a conciliatory lunch to kick me to the curb.

Guitar! Seriously, I'm jealous.

Um... Nothing really exciting at the moment (I work at a large chemical mfgr. so, yanno, excitement is not what we strive for) I have a terrible, terrible Christopher Cross 70's whiny dirge stuck in my head, that I may have to exorcise with some NIN or Rage Against the Machine. I'm also trying to be 3 people at once at work, so hopefully that doesn't make me crabby.

It refuses to stop snowing and raining here. It's been cloudy for like, six days straight now. In mid-May! In Colorado! BP's right, we all gonna die!

Oh, snap! I know what's exciting! I'm buying (hopefully) a new mountain bike soon! A REAL one with, like, rear suspension and everything!

Um, well, tomorrow's Bike or Walk to Work Day, which means free bagels downtown for those of us who bike, plus a "fun ride" after work at 6 followed by free beer at the Brewery. I'm up for all that.

Ooh, new bike! Definitely exciting. My bike unfortunately hasn't seen much use lately; I need to start getting out on it more. Maybe this weekend, weather's supposed to be beautiful.

I was also excited about attending a screening of Monty Python and the Holy Grail being hosted by John Cleese tonight, but alas, wasn't able to get tickets. :(
posted by The Pusher Robot 15 May | 10:56
The Pusher Robot - that would be awesome - you should go anyway! There usually always an extra ticket floating around the night of a show. Well, at least I've always had good luck with it, maybe it will work for you too.

It seems like... I can haz doggy. The foster person is supposed to bring her here Sunday evening, omg.

I have: chewy snacks (two kinds), rawhide bones, training treats, a ball, a rope toy, a comfy pillow, dry food, wet food, doggy shampoo, dog brush, dog comb, Flexi retractable lead, light leash, collar and collar charm (that was a gift), and a Vet. Oh, and Frontline, in the event she has fleas upon arrival (from the Vet). WOO.

Yay for doggie & taz! Hey, when dogs bark in Greek, what do they say?
posted by bmarkey 15 May | 13:26
Apprently, they say "GAV GAV". I dispute this.

Hurrah, taz, that IS good news!

Oh and, I called the shop! I can haz new bike!!

...assuming they can find my size in stock :P

The good news is that, if they do have my size in stock, I will get one quickly!!

Oh, and I linked the wrong page earlier. THIS is the bike I'm ordering. Woo, check out that schexhay champagne colour!
posted by lonefrontranger 15 May | 18:01
Wow lfr, you're getting a REAL mountain bike? WOOT.

(I actually thought the Schwinn was really cool...)

I have my eye on a vintage camera, but I'm thinking it won't happen. We'll see...
