My cat is in the pet hospital. →[More:]
Late last night I found what I thought was an abscess on
Bailey's groin. She'd been in a spat recently with a new cat that's been coming around and I thought it might have bitten her. Cat bites are notorious for becoming infected and turning into yucky abscesses.
So this morning I took her to the
vet, and
Alistair told me that he thinks it's a ruptured tumour, not an abscess. So they've kept her in for it to be removed, and it'll be sent away for pathology, along with blood tests.
He said he didn't think it was anything serious, because he could get his fingers all the way round it, but it needs to come out. She has a heart murmur, which will add to the risk of the anaesthetic.
This is the first time that she and her daughter,
Lucy, have ever been
separated. Bailey looked very sad and stressed as Alastair carried her off to the 'cat ward'.
And now I have to try to concentrate on work.
