E*I*E*I*O was a band from Wisconsin who in 1986 released an album called Land Of Opportunity which should have been huge but wasn't. If you have a taste for rootsy rock and roll you'll like them a lot. here's Tear It Down, Blue Mountain Top, Go West Young Man and Hello Heartache.
Bonus Track, one of the great ode's to life's futility, the Godfathers 'Birth, School, Work, Death.'

Now add "Last Cigarette" by Dramarama and this thread is complete.

I had a mixtape Back In The Day that had E*I*E*I*O, the Godfathers, and Dramarama on it.....

Thanks, jon. I *love* the music you shared not too long ago (Bash & Pop). It is great. I would have never known Bash & Pop existed.

Good stuff, thank you. That song, "Tear it Down," that's the first time I've heard it. I don't see how anyone could not like that song.

But I'm kinda weird that way.

I remember E*I*E*I*O very well growing up - "Hey Cecelia" was the big hit back in my youth.

'Hit,' being a relative term, dude. and it was 'hey cecilie,' 'hey cecilia' was Paul Simon.

The second album, That Love Thang isn't quite as good. It features "Hey Cecilie" and "Andy Warhol's Dead But I'm Not." eMusic's got both albums.

They released a third album last year. It's available from CDBaby.

Yes, yes, "Cecilie." I knew I was spelling something wrong - and definitely not confusing it with Paul Simon...
