Nope, not yet.→[More:]
I'm still pregnant. It must be really comfy in there.
I do have a blog set up now though - and there are few of us who can post to it via cell phone during the event (^_^).
Interesting reading about birthing practices in Japan - thanks gomi! My sister was out of (public, Australian) hospital 7 hours after giving birth, but the midwife visited every day for three weeks.
Wishing you and bubby well, gomichild! Have some storks.
Sex. Seriously. Go have some. It worked for my baby #2, who was overdue. A day later, and labor started. I know, it may be the furthest thing from your mind, but if you really want to get baby out.....
Anyway, I am seriously wishing you a quick, not-too-bad labor, and a very healthy baby. And pictures!!!
Sex is not only the most enjoyable way to get labour started, it's a traditional method employed by midwifes for centuries. Well, not themselves, of course, but you know what I mean.
goo, the general practice for uncomplicated births here is to get the mother up on her feet and out of the hospital as soon as possible - quite a few mothers go straight from the labour ward and out the door. For first babies, they like an overnight stay to make sure the new mum is coping OK but, after the first, they just want you gone. For my youngest daughter, the time from squeezing out to walking out was just under 4 hours. With my son, we would have gone straight from the labour ward to home, but they kept him overnight so some specialists could examine an issue with his hand.
Um not so great. It's going to be very isolating being away from what I am familiar with and from people I know and having to deal with strangers none of whom speak my native language. I'm not even sure I get to keep the kid near me.
