*suddenly wonders about impending trip to Florida*

Don't worry. My mom's only had this happen a few times, and she's been living there for years.

My grandparents' next door neighboor had a "pet" alligator living in the lake behind their houses for years when I was a kid. The gator's name, of course, was Al. Al never came to visit us, and we'd often fish in the lake without incident. But one day Al decided to stretch his legs and take a stroll to a house further down the road, where a less understanding gentleman shot him in the head. Since we were in North Georgia (way outside alligator country), the "rogue gator appearance" made quite a stir on the local news.

And that's my random alligator story. *curtsies*
