What celebrity terrifies you? [More:]

Mine is Bindi Irwirn.
Miley Cyrus!

Greta Van Susteren. I don't think there's anything more hideous in all the world. Oh, and all Scientologists and secret Scientologists.

The word "celebrity" itself terrifies me. Why are we celebrating these people?

I am most frightened by Tom Cruise, but that's too obvious.

Honestly? I'm kind of scared of Oprah, too. Long story, though.

Bindi Irwin. Little Moppet Monster with a messed up life who could chew my neck out till I died. Seriously.

Oprah is to be feared.
Seriously.
i know a guy who got locked up for writing Oprah.

i'm afraid i couldn't stop laughing/gawping in sight of Fabio or Tom Cruise. That kind of stunned horror.

People i expect would be nervous make me calm and a little visa versa.
There are all kinds of people i would not want to be around for myriad reasons.

Kim Kardashian. Representative of all of those people who are famous for being famous.

Walken does, but he's terrifying in a way that makes me feel really goooooood.

There are so many:

Donald Trump;
Kelsey Grammer;
Nancy Grace;
Eddie Murphy;
Mariah Carey;
Tori Spelling;
many more.

Michael Jackson and Gary Busey.

First Lady Laura Bush. I can't even look at her. Those eyes are just so wrong.

Tea Leoni. I don't know why. She must remind me of someone or something.

Michael Douglas, who clearly has a hate-on for women.

Hmm. I know there are others...
posted by small_ruminant 21 April | 23:17
oOH, definitely Michael Douglas AND Catherine Zeta Jones. I agree with Tea Leoni, too.
posted by Claudia_SF 21 April | 23:19
Khloe Kardashian, but in a good way.

Amy Winehouse. If we can count her. All that talent, all that self-destruction in one package is terrifying.
posted by lleachie 21 April | 23:55
I fucking hate the Fresh Step kitten. Does that count? Also, Andie MacDowell's pupils are tiny black skulls.

I am kind of terrified about how many of these celebrities I've never, ever heard of. I wouldn't want to be stuck in an elevator with Madonna, for sure... Still thinking.. not too many people terrify me.

Oh, wait, Donald Trump. Don't kill me, but I find Jamie Oliver kind of creepy. Martha Stewart. More thinking...

and lest I forget the time Ann Althouse murdered that hobo.

The celeb itself doesn't terrify me, but all these quasi-celebs from Big Brother/Reality TV that end up in the paper every time they go out for a latte freaks me the hell out. WHO THE HELL CARES THAT MUCH!? Celebs to me should be the artists, actors and musicians that do stuff worthy of getting all celeby about. I realize we'll never have paps chasing Ben Kingsley around (and I much prefer my actors personal lives to be hidden from my view it's easier to see them transform into their parts then) - but we do have enough pop starlets to hound without adding IT girls and Butt girls left and right, don't we?
posted by dabitch 22 April | 02:57
I could not tell you why, but I am frightened of Julia Stiles.
posted by misteraitch 22 April | 03:04
I can never shake the impression that Ainsley Harriot, when the cameras are off, is a manic depressive who kicks dogs and beats his wife.
posted by bifter 22 April | 04:37
I'm a little afraid of Kim Delaney (the female detective in NYPD Blue).
posted by Claudia_SF 22 April | 05:37
I am not afraid of her, but I am afraid of the criminal charges that would be leveled against me if Nancy Grace were ever to cross my path. Does anyone know how many years I would get for yanking every hair out of her nasty, noisy little head?

All celebrities terrify me -- I want them to get out of my way and get back in the tv where they belong.
posted by JanetLand 22 April | 08:16
Tom Cruise.
