So.... the tornado siren is going off...→[More:] The TV weatherman says there isn't a tornado, but baseball-sized hail is coming in.
I see it doohickie, it looks like it's coming for you. We had a couple hail storms in March. I was pulling into my neighborhood for one of them. It wasn't raining the entire way home, and then boom, hailstorm out of nowhere on my house. Lasted for about five or ten minutes and then it was sunny again. It was not baseball sized!
Run out and get a piece and take a picture for us. Just kidding!
Heh, thanks doohickie. Yeah, she had heart surgery in September. She's doing really well. Her symptoms have improved quite a bit.
Bad news is that she had her follow-up heart cath on Tuesday. She was hoping they'd tell her that the disease was gone gone gone, but they didn't. Her pressure levels have improved, but not quite enough for her to get off the really expensive meds (which Medicare won't cover; bastards). She was pretty bummed by it -- she wanted them to tell her it was all over.
All things considered, though, she's really lucky and doing really well. I think she just needs a little time for that to sink in.
Guess what? I forgot to turn off my sprinkler. It just kicked on in the middle of the heavy rain! Haltom City (NE of downtown) is getting the baseball size hail. Better them than me.
And shit, here it comes my way. Fortunately, I got my clients taken care of before it moved in. Unfortunately, my SO's got a flight that is supposed to land at DFW here in......8 minutes. Somehow, I doubt that'll happen.
And in all honesty, I'm going to be really pissed off if my car gets hail-damaged tonight. We're moving from a place with no garage to one with a two-car garage in less than two weeks. Fuck you, weather gods.
Thanks for caring, hickster. We (again) escaped the brunt of it. No hail, but a bunch of rain, which is still going on.
The SO's plane got put in a test-pattern, but she did wind up landing at DFW, albeit an hour or so late. She's on her way home now.
Given that all my concerns have been taken care of, I've just been reminded again that I'm lucky enough to have a dog that doesn't give a fart about storms.
I guess I should check in to let you know I'm not dead. I was working on a stats paper all night. We got heavy rain and strong winds but thankfully only sporadic pea-sized hail. Thankfully my house was barely missed by the spot of the storm they said had 2 inch hail. I got to spend a break eating pizza and watching the rain so it was pretty good overall.
If you get hail damage, claim it. A friend of mine paid off her car with the hail damage (she was a lawyer and spoke with the insurance company to make sure it was legal) and I still owe on my slightly hail damaged car.
