Physical ailment thread. →[More:]I have severe pain, nausea inducing pain, in my left shoulder blade area. It radiates to the surrounding areas of the left upper and mid back and hurts sharply when I look down or side to side. This has been going on since Saturday morning. Some times are more manageable than others.
I am not having a heart attack.
On Friday I was dragging a buffet table (lightweight, foldable) across my backyard with one hand. It got caught up in the sod and I think I might have pulled a muscle. That is the only thing I can think of, other than the rowing machine. But, the rower has never caused me pain in the past.
On the first day I took Aleve and it was totally bearable. Each morning I hope that the pain will lessen, but it seems to be getting worse. I am hunched over. I can barely stand up straight. I'm guarding the area and I think it is only making things worse.
I'm thinking of going straight to the orthopedic surgeon. Or, maybe I should see my primary first, but he will just refer me to the ortho doctor. I don't need a referral with my insurance. What I really want to do is stay home and see some improvement.
All I can say is, this sucks badly. I hate complaining, but I wanted to share. I'm a little stressed over this.
