Yes, dersins, I have seen the Arcata Eye Police Log. And so has somebody working at a tiny weekly paper in Pismo Beach because he has been trying to emulate it and doing rather well, but sadly, this neighborhood newspaper has no online presence whatsoever. (I can't even remember its name; they had copies of it at a laundromat I used to frequent but I found one closer and cheaper so I haven't seen the paper for a few months... which is so stupidly trivial, I should put it in my own blog)

It's probably not a cute thing to the avo farmers, I'll bet. I used to drive Casitas Pass between Ojai and Rincon, almost on a daily basis, and it's ALL avos now, and easy pickings.

But, then, one of the joys about living in Ojai is going for a run, stopping at an orchard, and sharing an orange with one's running partner. No one ever seemed to mind one or two.

Ha, danf! I have made that same drive many, many times! Never bothered to stop to pick avocados, though. We got ours here.

Obviously, although these dumb criminals were caught in the act and if they did it right the farmer actually got some of his avo harvesting done for free... and I got a kick out of the terminology...
