03 April 2008
snow. It's snowing in Iowa. →[More:]What the hell is this. It's April. April is for sunshine, damnit! I want flowers and birdies and NOT MORE SNOW WE'VE ALREADY HAD LIKE 80 INCHES THIS WINTER
lleachie: Grinnell. I'm hearing from my friends in Kansas City and other points south of here that it's just raining there too, which just re-emphasizes how stupid it is that it's snowing.
I wore sandals to class this morning. Clearly, I jinxed the weather.
57 and partly sunny here in the Great Pacific Northwest, which means I had to mow the lawn for the first time this year. A machete would probably have been more useful than out old push mower.
Dismas -- yep, I know where Grinnell is, and I feel your pain.
This has been a totally abysmal year in the area. I'm surprised it's NOT snowing down here, actually, given the snow we've logged this winter.
If the daffodils next to my house could speak (I'm in USDA plant zone 5 except the front southern exposure of the house, which is its own microzone 6) they'd say, "EWWWWW" right now. There's a robin outside my door complaining.
It snowed this morning here in Colorado, then while I slept, it got sunny. Just had some thunder, and now it's a bit flurious out. Tomorrow should be 60 and sunny. Definitely zone 5 here, but bordering on 4.
It's been in the mid 50s and sunny here the past couple days. We went grocery shopping a bit earlier and I thought I'd spontaneously combust with all that sunshine beaming down on me.
