Was Al Green's version of "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" considered some kind of payback for the Beatles doing "Twist and Shout"? I'm a fan of the Right Rev. Green but that just sounded ... not right. (Compared to Little Stevie doing "We Can Work It Out", which works.)
Hey, the Isley Brothers can fight their own battles. Ronnie's Mr. Biggs. Hell, he's doing time. I kinda dig that Al Green version. Shows the versatility of even early Beatles songwriting, and just seems so grown-up.
