01 April 2008

I just watched this. [More:]

They flew right past my office, and I was standing at the dockside railing for a great view. The Red Arrows were a magnificent sight, although they were gone in seconds.

But just as enjoyable to the spectators was a fantastic April Fool's prank pulled on a group of young women by some men from their office.

The women, all aged about 20 or so, were standing at the dockside railing, yabbering away about Britney, Jordan, Kerry Katona, etc., when at a pre-planned point before the flyover, all the guys - about 8 of them - standing behind them all went "Nyyeeeeoooooowwwww" and whipped their heads from right to left, as if the planes had flown over.

"Wow!" "Fantastic!" "God, wasn't that great!" they said.

"We missed it" said the girls. "Why didn't we see it?"

"Ah, that's because they're stealth planes. They're invisible."

This explanation was accepted without question and the girls went back to the office.

Meanwhile, the rest of us were trying not to pee ourselves laughing.
*HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA* Oh god, I love jokes like that.

As I mentioned yesterday, flyovers are common enough around here that I know what they sound like--so freakin' loud that I hear them coming with enough time to go outside and see them. Just saw one Sunday, as a matter of fact.

They were 20-year-old Essex girls, danf. Of course they were blondes.
