This year a MeFi Meetup walk over at Chrissie Field. I'm going to try to get it together to make homemade chocolate chip cookies.

Today I will be desperately searching for an electrified handheld drilling machine. If successful, I will finally get around to attaching a handle to my refrigerator door. If not, well, at least I tried.

It's been snowing all week (but melting when it hits the ground, so it isn't the fun kind of snow) so I'll be huddled near a heater as much as possible the rest of the time. Easter never really made much sense to me.

Gingerkitty and I will go to Easter services at the little Episcopal church we belong to, and then go to eat brunch buffet at the Hy-Vee (Midwest grocery store chain) cafeteria. No sense making a big Easter dinner for two of us.

Then I plan to do more yardwork in the afternoon, seeing that the weather will be pretty decent. We don't have kids, so no Easter egg hunts or baskets of caloric goodies. I may grab a Cadbury Creme Egg just so -- they're hopelessly, glommily sweet but I love them.

Today I go to the gym, do a few weights (maybe) then do two spin classes back to back. (I know, I know...us Saturday gym rats are nuts.) Then I come home, do chores and get ready for tomorrow-we'll go to church then to my folks' house for a dinner of Easter ham with the trimmings.

(Is it just me or is the price of eggs up the roof these days?)

Work today, maybe ham with my uncle and his wife tomorrow (if not, then chicken in curryish yogurt and cilantro sauce at home), work Monday.

Oooh, thanks for reminding me, Ileachie! I have a Cadbury Easter Creme Egg! Think I'll eat that after lunch.

^ I read "ham" as a verb up there and wondered WTF hamming was.

I'm working today. Taxes tomorrow. Working Monday. Hopefully communing with nature sometime in between.

Today I am cleaning a bit, catching up on some laundry. Going to Target and then to a birthday party.

Tomorrow I'm going to my parents' for lunch. Chicken salad, brownies, and chips are the plan. I'm bringing the brownies. Dinner is at the in-laws. More sophisticated fare is on the menu. There will be more Easter egg dyeing and hunting.

I'm hosting my family Easter do tomorrow. I'm expecting up to 15 people.

This means that today I must vaccum the house and do the food prep/cooking. I'm hoping to get some time to go to Home Depot and the library, and work on the basement or sew.

We were just discussing this. Our Easter (Greek Orthodox) doesn't come until April, and my husband has some days off so we initially decided to go to a particular island... but we probably won't, because he'll be anxious in case there's any problem getting back, and he needs to be at work when work starts up again. Bad weather can shut down ferry service, which is the only way to get to this island from the other, larger island where one can fly to/from Athens. So, maybe we'll go to Thessaloniki (our Greek hometown), or maybe we'll have a BBQ for Easter orphans at our place.

Got back about 1.5 hours ago from my last long practice run before the marathon on 13th April. Apparently you're not meant to do long runs in the three weeks before the big day (unless, I suppose, you're one of those uber-fit elite runners). I have discovered that after about 20 miles I seem to turn into Zombie Running Machine and, although my brain is telling me that my feets and calves would *really* appreciate it if I stopped, I just mindlessly carry on. Anyway, I did 23 miles today, so I'm feeling confident about finishing the course on the day itself. As Jan mentioned, the weather here is atrocious, and running in wind, sleet and snow when you're just wearing a T ahirt and shorts is not to be recommended.

Other than that, my sister and her family are coming down to my parents' place tomorrow for lunch, so I'm going to go down there to see them and play with my niece for a few hours. I'll also be taking the foot high chocolate Easter bunny my boss gave me: there's just over 6500 calories in it, so there's no way I'm tackling that on my own!

After that: university course work and reading a book on mental models.

1. Put baby in baby seersucker suit.
2. Go to church with in-laws.
3. Go back to in-laws' house for lunch.
4. Go home, mow lawn.
5. Drink beer, nap.

Last night we met up with friends at a bar and watched basketball, ate wings. Today we are doing usual Saturday things: cleaning, gym, hitting a museum. Dinner out with other friends tonight. Tomorrow we are cooking dinner and having our recently bereaved friend around for the day. Easter eggs and peeps! And lots of scrabble, probably.

I walked around drilling holes into the wall just for the sake of drilling holes into the wall. It's going to be my new holiday tradition. Maybe hammering some nails in, too, if the night starts to get too long.

My Easter plans are to sleep, work my shift on Sunday, work on the downstairs bathroom tiling with my brother, eat foods, try not to get into a screaming match with mother...the usual.

Today: A haircut (finally), and taking my girlfriend out to dinner (possibly followed by The Ten Commandments. 'cause we're dorks). My father's going to the Vigil mass, and I don't really feel like sitting around for two and a half hours (and there's my lazy Catholic streak).

Tomorrow: Mass and breakfast with the grandparents.

We're atheists, so there's no Easter in our Easter weekend. I will probably eat some chocolate, but that doesn't count, does it?

We're on vacation this week, which gives us a rare weekend together.

Today, I went to see John Bisbee give an artist's talk, after viewing his show at the local art museum. It was tremendous. He was great fun to hear: funny but not flippant, appreciative of the work by the museum, and most interested in answering questions. It was perhaps my favorite artist's talk ever.

Tomorrow, we'll spend a night alone together catsitting for a friend: a little getaway.

Monday, a friend is taking the day off from work and driving up to visit us. (She just announced this today, so it's a most welcome surprise!) We'll have lunch together, do some errands and some idling, and a whole lotta nothing.

At some point in there, I must tackle an essay, too.

We're going to my mom's house, going out for lunch, and then coming back and working in her yard to get it ready for spring. (Cleaning dead leaves out of the flowerbed, stuff like that.)

I'm going to the family dinner at my aunt's house. I made some turtle brownies and a lemon cake. (Haven't frosted or glazed the cake yet due to indecision on what frosting or glaze to make/use.)
