Arthur C. Clarke is dead at age 90. "any form of censorship has become utterly impossible. There's simply no way of enforcing it; the customer can get what he wants right in his own home. Lock the door, switch on the TV set -- friends and family will never know."[More:] He was no Ray Bradbury but still, he holds up better than much of the Golden Age.
Sad, but the rumours of Clarkes predilictions always squicked me out, so not that sad.

I heard this on the news today morning, I wonder if they've got a memorial thread already up on Mefi?

Even though he was my introduction to SF and thereby got me my "adult" library card way before I would otherwise have, I'm with seanyboy on this. Perhaps we'll see the truth come out now, or perhaps the opposite. And while he was no Bradbury; Bradbury was no Clarke. It's a bit like saying Lichtenstein was no Picasso.

Or something.
