What If You Knew You'd Be Dead In Ten Years? What would you do then?
I'm pretty unhealthy, so there's a chance I will be dead.
Hopefully, the signularity will hit before then and I'll be able to get myself uploaded to headloadr.com
What would I do. Nothing really. Try and get my pension signed over to me early. Write a will. I quite like my life, so not so much need to change things.
If I knew I only had ten years, I'd probably quit this job and go start the goat ranch. Why spend my last years working for the man when I could be making cheese?
I'd spend more time with my kids. I already spend a lot of time, but I'd spend a lot more time. More time with my other family members as well. I would hopefully have a lot more patience and not sweat the small stuff. I already feel I'm pretty good, or, getting better all the time with these two things.
Speaking of heart problems. Where is mischief? I read that he wanted to change his screen name. Did he? Not that I identify mischief with heart problems, but it made me think of him.
Now I realize why we don't have favorites on MetaChat, I would have favorited every single comment twice over.
I've been given a shorter life leash than ten years in the past and it was wrong. Sorry doctors, I don't trust your timelines. I wouldn't change much I guess. I try to live my life that way now. Knowing you don't have much time doesn't really help much, especially if your worst trait is procrastinating (like me!). I'd get around to everything at 9 years, 9 months. :P
Like doctor_negative, I should be dead already. Twice over even. My plans don't change; travel for the next year and a half, followed by a retirement of music and insight.
1. I'd not worry about all the debts.
2. I'd keep working, because I like most of my job and it's part of what keeps me anchored in reality.
3. If #1 was not a concern, I'd actually build a house and have somewhere to live with a garden and maybe even have chickens!
4. I actually want to check out in about 20 years, but 10 is OK too.
