I actually used to like that strip, back in the day. Now Michael is an insufferable prick and Liz has been lobotomized into settling for Granthony. Guh. I hope Lynn never meets her characters in a dark alley. Or maybe I hope she does...
dismas, there are many other comics and many good ones on the Web... I should use this as an excuse to hype my own webcomics blog, but that would be tacky.
I guess i lied in that I keep up with several webcomics. But I forget to check most paper-route comic strips (and honestly, have no desire to keep up with most of them) except those three. I do sort of get the gist of where we are in the soap opera strips from Comics Curmudgeon.
I always used to snicker at the FOOB-cynics out there, especially the claim that LJ kept setting up her characters to fail. Then she pulled the "Mr. Wright" storyline rug out from under Liz and us. Sheesh. Well, he was kinda pushed into it by Elly ...
I like to imagine that all Canadians talk like Anthony.
(Yeah, OK, ugggh. I pretty much agree with everything Comics Curmudgeon says about the recent storylines. When I was a wee kiddie, FOOB was sort of empowering, ya'know. But now it's all like, "Give you all your dreams and move back to marry your weird and awkward high school sweetheart! Careerwomen who don't want children are such a bitch!")
Before bed last night, I ruminated on how Liz looks just like Michael if her hair is pulled back. Then I realized that April looks just like Michael's wife. Then I realized that Anthony looks just like Liz's Dad. Now I realize that Anthony's spawn looks just like one of Michael's kids. There are 4-5 faces in this strip, tops- the rest is just hairdos!
Also, I was so in love with that Mountie in the northlands, and I was super-pissed off that he had to be dealt with so harshly to convince Liz to go home.
