Dr Levine's research revealed that on the average his subjects burned 100 calories more every hour while walking slowly -- at 1 mile per hour -- than while sitting in a chair.

NO! Surely this can't be true! You can... burn more calories by walking than you can sitting at a desk?!

Why, imagine what one could achieve with regular exercise out-of-doors!

There was a segment in "The Story" (I believe, on NPR) about a guy in CA that made his own desk for this. He lost 80+ pounds in a year or so if I recall correctly. I think it's a great idea.
