Project Runway "spoilers" spoilers →[More:]
I hope I got that spoilers thing right. Avert your eyes if you don't want to see.

Maybe it's my age, but I thought Romi had it. Jillian was definately #3 though.
I hate that the Travel and Discovery Channel's reception's been totally shit for the last year or so, and I've missed out on all the Project Runway fun. I think I was able to catch the first season--that's all. And maybe a part of the second.
I def. thought that Jillian had beaten Rami. But then, I'm not a fashion designer or a fashion icon or anything. In fact, I thought Jillian should have won, but I knew Christian had one.
It's unfortunate that the producers chose to show Christian as so annoying and repetitive. It was clear to me, from watching the out-takes and reading interviews, that he really was a warm and funny guy who worked his ass off and deserved tons of success.
Rami had it right when he said that Christian will have to learn about designing for real women and not models. I mean, is that what the judges want? I guess so because Christian won. Jillian's collection looked really nice and I can see it being a commercial success but Christian's collection is so "out" there that yeah it looked great but doesn't it all boil down to money?
Other than that, the producers really tried to make Christian the resident villain this season but you could see he really wasn't.
I guess Top Chef is next, have never watched it but looks interesting.
I thought that Jillian should have won...her knits were amazing and her pieces were flirty, wearable, imaginative, and just slightly odd. I think they had to give it to Christian because the public outcry would have been, well, fierce. His collection was wonderful though, I have to admit. Silly too though. His designs are usually silly. Not many people can get away with wearing 18 pounds of beige organza ruching on their necks. No one can wear those clothes except models and people like Victoria Beckham, it's true.
Oh and I'm bummed that Christian won for several reasons. I think he's very immature for one, and also think that he lives in Christian World where all women are 5' 11" and weight 115 lbs. There were two challenges where the designers had to work with people other than models. In the weight loss challenge Christian lucked out and got a thin woman. In the prom challenge he ended up with a girl who was plus-size, and yes, she had attitude and was immature, but he too has attitude and is immature, so that's a wash to me. He totally fell apart because he couldn't (and didn't want to) design for her body type. Because she wasn't slim, she wasn't fierce and she wasn't inspiring. Ugh.
Some of the things he designed were so tight that the models couldn't walk normally, and had to take mincing little steps. That's ridiculous. Him telling one of his models "don't eat anything" was....ugh.
I'm bummed that he was such an overwhelming crowd favorite, for some reason. To me it doesn't bode well for the future of the show, which I love, obviously. To me he's all show and no substance and if that's what people love, I foresee lots more dramatics and ridiculous haircuts and sweeping hand movements and fierceness. And finger snaps (because it's what.....1997?). Maybe I'm too old to get why everyone loves him so much, because I have a 21 year old daughter (his age) and she's 21 times as mature as he is, and so to me he's a brat who's still wet behind the ears.
Nina had a baby in March 07, so she was probably losing weight and maybe breast feeding and glowing this year. Heidi looked surgified for the first time to me last night. Maybe just a recent botox, though.
Well, OK, to be fair, I liked Christian's work 100x better than what's-his-name, who won last season. But yeah, I agree that he's a little young (ha! and that coming from a 24-year-old!) I think for a lot of fans, he reminded them of their best friend in high school, who was so vulnerable and soft inside, and had to grow a tough "I'm so fierce, I don't care, I'm the best" exterior just to survive.
Oh, and I did really like Rami's work, surprisingly, except that his color choices were all wrong. But I loved that grey woven dress. It completely knocked me on my ass.
Rami's dresses were absolutely breathtaking. I knew Christian was going to win, but I'm just so over his crazy Dutch Master Pilgrim look. They got on Rami for over using the draping, but never seemed to call Christian on beating puff sleeves to death.
And I can't really be objective about Jillian because I found her saw unlikable. So passive aggressive and brittle and arrogant. Blah.
