28 February 2008

Update with Pictures The local paper with their take on the proposal thread.
Corina Round...considers herself the luckiest woman alive and said her fiancé should have a gift tag upon him that reads: “To Women: Love, God,” because he’s “God’s gift to women.”

Heh. Shouldn't that be "woman"? I wouldn't share.

I dunno, he seems a bit controlling.

A commenter suggested the same thing on the newspaper site.

I think it's pretty sweet. They are too cute. They seem to be on the same page as far as planning surprises for one another and being romantic. I would never last with this guy. I'm not that romantic and I think I would run out of ideas on how to continually surprise and impress a mate with romantic gestures. A homemade meal and a backrub is about the extent of it.

That made me choke up a little. All my husband did was buy me a taco and take me to a public park. And if he had bothered to pack me an outfit, it probably would have been, like, a scuba mask, a red bra and pajama pants. He's bad at matching.

This part kind of weirded me out:

Brad needed a more permanent way to snag this girl, so he told her he was having a party. He made it up out of thin air.

“I used to plan parties,” Corina said, “So I said, ‘When is it? I want to help you?’ ”

“I really didn’t have a party or a plan,” Brad said. “I finally told her I was canceling the party and (asked) would she like to have a glass of wine?”

I dunno. I waver between sweet and controlling. I guess it depends on the people involved. *shrug*

I don't know if the guy is controlling, or the writer is just bad. I mean, come on:

This may go down as the most romantic — and definitely most time-consuming and original — marriage proposal in years. If ever.

Barf.

This also reminds me of what Acari (a poster on AskMe) had done for his girlfriend, or girlfriend to be.

Really cute.

I look forward to the follow up wherein the US court system has Corina Round go on a scavenger hunt to get a restraining order against her creepy, controlling husband.
