Working. On call. Last time I was on call I had 4/7 nights up all night on the phone and/or physically responding to emergencies, on top of my actual job, so hoping that doesn't happen this time (it was unusual, one of my worst on call weeks ever).
Meeting a friend for lunch tomorrow, and while I'm over in East London, collecting a leather jacket I had repaired at a motorcycle apparel place. The jacket is about 30 years old and is the softest leather, really buttery. I caught a sleeve on something and made a small tear in it. The first repair looked good but came apart the same day, so they're having to put a leather cuff around the sleeve because the hide is so fragile.
Sunday is a big football day, so probably a day spent catching up with chores and watching the games.
Going tonight to see this 8-Track: The Sounds of the 70s show (we got some discount tickets, what the hey). Tomorrow, it looks like we're going to do a dump run in the AM, and then head to Bowl-A-Rama for Disco Bowl all afternoon! I haven't checked that place out yet, and it's been on my list forever. Candlepin bowling set to your disco favorites. On Saturday night, something or other. There's a great recurring art show at a local gallery called The Enormous Tiny Art Show, in which all the works are really little and pretty affordable. We'll check that out. Somewhere in here I have to jam out an NEA grant. And it's supposed to snow. So, that'll keep me busy.
Saturday, dinner with friends and then a at the Symphony, in which one friend is playing violin.
Sunday dominoes/bbq/jamming with same said friends, first time for the violinist, should be fun.
Today's my father's birthday so i'll be doing things related to my father with people related to my father, like my brother.
But on the other hand, holy crap, i just found out my doctor died in an accident the other night. He's the only doctor of his kind most of this part of the state and the lone head of all kinds of stuff, which i've always said was not only patently ridiculous but unwise in so many ways. i'd like to get to the top of a really good vantage point and watch all the freaking out.
He was an ass in so many ways and many people will be dancing on his grave as well as mobs of people freaking out. This will be interesting.
Also, i predicted it and they all said i was mad. Mad, they said. Why would be not see the new rat?
i feel strangely vindicated.
i know this must sound cold but it's a very strange even that will mess things up the way nothing else could.
Curious.
Tonight, hang around the house & drink beer with bf who, if all goes according to plan, should arrive just exactly as I finish cleaning up & making dinner, thus minimizing waiting time.
Tomorrow, hiking, hopefully combined with a trip to the trout hatchery, a visit to my mom and then a friend is having a party. It might snow and/or rain, though, which would put a crimp in the hiking.
Sunday, lying around being lazy.
Tonight, one round of drinks with work peeps at the Billy Goat Tavern, then up to Moody's Pub for a burger and some fireplace-adjacent drinking with my sweetie.
Tomorrow, gym if I'm good, then D&D.
Sunday, over to a friend's house for general socializing and dinner.
Tonight: Making Mexican food and having people over to watch Stardust and The Princess Bride.
Saturday: I think the boy is going to a party for one of his friends; I'm not very interested so I will either stay home and play Warcraft or drive to SD for a party for one of my friends.
Sunday: He goes on hike, I...hm. Maybe I'll dig up a yoga class. That would be good.
Tonight - bowling league; last night, thank the stars. Mrs. tr33 can still bowl, but is feeling very sore lately from the baby growing.
Tomorrow - haircut, gym, gourmet food shop and grocery store, house cleaning. Making spicy tomato chickpeas in the crockpot.
Sunday - run on the treadmill (man I am addicted to that since I got the Nike+ deal), finishing cleaning the house, making crockpot mac and cheese (sooooo good but soooo bad for me, so an extra long run is in order), friends coming over for peanut butter pie, then maybe a movie or some Wii or other games with the mommy-to-be.
Tonight, my first meetup, hooray! If I can make it - I am quite tired at the present, and need a nap in the worst kind of way.
Tomorrow, cleaning and working.
Sunday, more of the same, I fear.
Tomorrow night we're going to the whole hog dinner at the restaurant where the gf used to cook. Yay. Pig. (/sarcasm.)
It's way expensive (and I'm way unemployed) and it's way porky (and I don't eat that much meat), but I'm going because it's 6 of the gf's friends and she wants me to meet them and I'm trying to be nice. Sigh.
The weather's supposed to be gorgeous, and I'd like to work in a hike, but gf has 60 papers to grade and 500 pages to read, so I don't think it's going to happen. :(
I'll see you at the meetup tonight in Chapel Hill, msali!
Tomorrow a.m. I'm getting a 1/2 day of beauty at bargain basement Aveda Institute prices. Then after that I'll be traipsing around my neighborhood picking up bags and bags (14 in all, I believe) of other people's leaves to compost. In the evening I'm going to a baby shower.
Tonight, I'm taking it pretty easy. I'll try to find my pal R (a bigger challenge than it sounds, as she's visiting from out of state, doesn't have a cellphone and is staying with a succession of friends) and see if she wants to eat dinner or play Scrabble or go see There Will Be Blood or something along those lines. Alternately, I'll read or play videogames or watch a movie or something.
Tomorrow, I'm working during the day, then probably meeting A, B and B for our semi-regular experimenting-with-home-recording session. And Sunday, I'm probably going for a bike ride in the morning, weather and health permitting, then working in the afternoon. I have no idea what I'm doing on Sunday night.
tonight: drunken welding with friends on their hotrod project, yay!
tomorrow: hungover group ride with the teammates, and it's forecast to be suicidally windy which should be fun. After that, an urban assault fixed-gear massacree in search of wine, groceries and my best girlfriend's new flat, not necessarily in that order, followed by shopping for sparkly shit I can neither easily afford nor justify, but get mad discounts on thanks to the mister (translation: I desperately need ski boots that don't suck).
Tonight: Book. Pizza. Bath. Music. Rest arms sore from snow shovelling and swimming.
Tomorrow: Write talk to give to library students at McGill next week. Maybe start watching Arrested Development (never seen it, someone lent me first season)
Sunday: Actually write talk. Also snowshoe.
Somewhere in there: make crackers with this new cracker recipe I have. Feed birds. Appreciate fed birds. Write thank you notes.
Friday night: Dinner with the boy! Secret valentine's day shopping! Have to come up with a self-portrait for day #100 of my 365 project! Gym!
Saturday: Cleaning for the poker game! Finding a place to store all of my photography lights! Maybe under the bed! Making bacon-wrapped cholesterol appetizers! Then hopefully winning money at poker!
Sunday: Find a new church to visit! Maybe gym again! Laundry! Hockey game!
Today, I bought a blue suit and got my hair cut (which hadn't formally happened for about a year not counting a trim I got from a friend.) Tomorrow evening I go to our local Reagan Day dinner and will be forced to be surrounded by local and regional Republicans who will be equally forced to be nice to ME cuz of my husband.
Oh, and Elixabeth Dole is supposed to be speaking.
Oh, come on, Reagan Day is great. At last year's party, I got so hopped up on jellybeans I couldn't recognize my own son. So I consulted my astrologer, who told me to trade guns for hostages. And the guests! There was the heroic WWII gunner, the welfare mother in a Cadillac, the Afghan mujahadeen, the Nicaraguan freedom fighters... I don't really remember the rest of it, though--the Alzheimer's-related dementia started while the party was still going on. True story.
Poker was canceled! Which gives me no excuse to make bacon-wrapped cholesterol! Stupid people canceling on me! Besides I can't even find the bacon, where the hell could it have gone??
