Postal nonsense update: Frustration and nothing to be done. Along with Xmas cards, yesterday, Feb 6th, I received a car insurance bill sent Dec 21st. At some point they canceled me for non-payment and I've been driving uninsured. [More:] It's fixed now, but should I complain to the post office? Why bother? They'll only brush me off.

*siiiigh*
What the...? What's going on with your mail? Do you live in Hooterville, or something? :)

Yes you should complain, if this is an ongoing thing. If it only happened once, I'd let it slide, but not if it's happened more than once.

Just this once at Xmas time, aside from occasional delivery to the wrong box and the usual stuff.

Definitely my local post, too, as all the mail is postmarked successfully from various original destinations.

Thanks. I'm inclined to ignore it, as I know it'll only frustrate me.

The question that inspires obsessive curiosity really is, What were they doing with my mail all this time? Like, it fell behind a desk five weeks ago and the janitor found it yesterday?

Again, why wonder? There's no way to ever know.

Now it's personal! They made me split an infinitive!

That is worse than the mail delivery we had after Hurricane Katrina. Go complain, send the Postmaster a letter. :)

I got some mail returned to me at work yesterday that I mailed in July, August, and October. There was a note on one of the peices that said the address had changed on August 10. And they were returned February 5. What the heck, USPS?

Report it to your local postmaster general. Someone isn't doing their job!

Go to the post office and fill out the complaint form, or maybe you can do it online now. If nothing else they will pay you off, but they are pretty responsible about screwing up (as they become less and less important across the board) as they are a government agency and all.

Once they dropped of a COD without the C part (the only time i ever sent something COD) and they did at least give me a fifty for complaining about it. (As i did get my C from the person, it was about the principle.)

I just slept in my car at lunch: A Do or A Don't? || Dramatic lemur!
