OH YEAH *bursting through a wall near you*
I may need some of this.... I did, after all, buy a plastic Kool-Aid pitcher off of eBay.

I may need to buy the lime green hoodie.

Yeah, I need some of that. Seriously. I need 'em.

Wow! cultural differences! The only thing Kool-Aid says to me is poison and Jim Jones. Saw an amazing documentary a few nights back on Jonestown. Incredibly sad. (sorry for the derail, as you can see I've never been in the States!)

cultural differences!

For some of us (post/late boomer, pre-genX), those commercials and the Kool-Aid dude himself are deeply imprinted into our memories. Oh, to delete some of our old and useless data files.

*jealous*

This frightens me a bit, though:

Plus, Reebok packed each of the kicks with extra flavor by crating scent-infused sockliners!

Eww. Strawberry-scented foot odor.

You can still make custom kicks at reebok, btw. Eyow!

I have a few of these 1970s Kool-Aid mugs, including Jolly Orange, Choo Choo Cherry, and Lefty Lemon. They are not in the condition of the eBay offerings, however -- mine were well-used and well-loved.

Oh wow, I hadn't thought of those mugs in forever, init. We had some of those as kids, too. The last time I saw 'em (high school, maybe?) most of the paint was gone from them.

Wilder: contrary to popular belief it wasn't Kool-Aid.

For some reason, the Kool-Aid man is inextricably linked with the Nestea plunge in my memory.

I still have painful memories of attempting to take the Nestea plunge in various neighborhood pools. Also: knocking myself silly because I could've had a V8. (Come to think of it, commercials were pretty violent back in the day.)
