Aw, man, we went to see Les Savy Fav play last night at the Bowery Ballroom. They rocked.→[More:]They started playing around 3am (? I didn't have a timepiece) and played a fantastic set. Then for their encore they came on and played a buncha covers: Nirvana, AC/DC, Quiet Riot, Cheap Trick (I think?) Danzig (or maybe Misfits?) Pixies... they finished up with a big singalong of Everybody's gotta live by Love. Awesome. Happy new year, everyone!

Cool! I really like their latest album and, if I ever have any spare cash, will start to investigate their back catalogue. I've heard they're amazing live, but the 3am thing... too late for me these days :(

They are indeed amazing live -- way better than on their albums, IMO. Tim Harrington's insanity doesn't really translate to the album format :)

I played with them in a really small club years ago and Tim Harrington was running around the place, jumping on the bar, singing in people's faces. We traded t-shirts with them (for some reason) and it looked like one of the guitar players had just woke up. I bet that was a lot of fun.

Oh yeah, and Harrington had a rat tail.
