In the spirit of New Year's resolutions, here is Bill Plympton's classic animated short, "25 Ways To Stop Smoking."
Excellent and fitting choice for NYE. I LOVE Bill Plympton, BeeP! I went to the Hi Mom! film festival here a few years ago - he was speaking there. In my hopelessly tactless social buffoonery I blurted, I thought you were an Old guy?! He goes, I AM an old guy!! Then he signed my dvds. After the talk I ran down to the stage and got the drawing he'd made of Cherri, from Hair High, which he was working on at the time. He signed that, too.
Oh, how cool, chewie- I'm jealous! :) I first saw this short at a touring animation festival (something I miss from the late 80s-early 90s), and became an instant Plympton fan. His cartoons tickle my funny bone like little else does.
I think the first one I saw was Your Face (scroll down) in one of those film festival tour things. I was blown away - he is so original and yeah, definitely hit the funny bone for me, too!
