Photo Friday: "Transportation" Let's see your ride.
My Ford Escort. Ten years old, only 58,000 on the clock.

Streching the theme a little, this is a photo of one of the wheels that raises and lowers the lifts in the Eiffel Tower:

Yes, I am the lone biker of the apocalypse, except when I ride with friends.

almost? (how do you like it?)

If I were to post a picture of my most oft-used transportation, it would be a CTA bus or train (I guess I'll latch on to pokermonk's picture for that.) But here's my car, which I love.

I drive a (black) 2005 Golf TDi 1.9, and I'm pretty fond of it. It's good on petrol and it's got a little vroom despite it being diesel.

It costs me £56.00 to fill it up. Do the math, Americans (it'll keep you from moaning about the price of gasoline).

misskaz, is that a Mazda 3?
posted by chuckdarwin 21 December | 09:59
I wanted to take a picture of my bus route, but my camera was SMASHED at the last meet-up (it was a rolicking good time). Then I wanted to share some old pictures of me in cars, but I left those at home!

So, here is my bike:

That it is! 5-door (hatchback) model. With 1/2 the seats folded down, there's enough room for my big old greyhound. We drove from Chicago to Houston and back with her, and the two of us, and all our stuff in it.

The dog loves the car as demonstrated here, with her "cruisin' face" on.

Here's my classic Asheville hippie mobile - this is from about a year and a half ago and the Shuler & local food stickers are gone, but I've added a 70s-vintage Only Love is Better Than Schlitz sticker I found in the new basement when I moved.

This is an older photo that I may already have posted here, but I haven't shot much in [far too long]... tho I do have some luscious trains I need to postprocess.

Anyhow, this one says it all:

I have been taking very few photos lately, and have had even less time for taking "assignments". 128 hours on my last two week paycheck, thankfully my next one will only be 96. So here are two from last year. The first one was taken during my walk home from work after the blizzard we had one year ago today. Shows how useless automotive transportation can be sometimes:
≡ Click to see image ≡

The second is a self portrait on my mountain bike taken about 2 weeks later. (I've not had time for it or my road bike either with all my work the last 6 months.) I know I posted it here before, so here's the repeat:

Thanks, eek!

And I almost forgot that, since the theme is 'Transportation', not specifically 'your transportation', I can post one of my favourite photos. I didn't take it, but it's of a good friend of mine (the one I went camping with in the rootin' tootin' shootin' photo I posted a few Fridays back):
