1. Been zipping around, delivering apple spice and mango orange cakes with super vanilla frosting (some with coconut) to people. Somehow i ended up with some kind of fruit strudel looking thing. It's like some kind of endless dessert continuum and i don't even feel like eating. But dipping stray pieces of cake in the frosting is really amazing. Goes really well with coffee.
Please come over and eat. i will make pie. Some kind of crazy experimental pie.

2. Luckily was just in the door when a Fed Ex guy showed up. My tablet came next day! And while i am in my oversized undershirt and dirty pants, looking as put together as a box of loose legos, he's giving me the eye. Kinda cute, too. Hmm.

3. The Bees has been on a tear so far today, climbing everything possible to its filthy uncleanable peak and just being like a really spazzy four year old. But cuter. Damn her furry hide! Outta the fridge!

1. Found the boy chewing and crying. Did a finger sweep and came out with a THUMB TACK. What the hell? We don't even own any thumb tacks. I didn't even know they still made them. Little dude...if chewing on something hurts you, then STOP CHEWING ON IT!! God, babies are so very, very stupid.

2. Spent my birthday money on Xmas presents again. December birthdays suck a lot.

Fabric I get from all over. I use mostly Italian twill instead of coutil, since I don't really cater to the waisttraining and tightlacing crowd and there really isn't any point in paying so much otherwise. (My twill I ususally get off ebay in bulk orders of 20+ yards at a time.)

For the bones, busks and grommets I go through corsetmaking.com. Busks I order 1-off, but I get the bones by the dozen, and grommets by the gross. I don't like their laces, though. I prefer double-sided satin, so I buy 100 yard rolls of that and cut as needed.

I've thought about getting the giant rolls of bones and cutting as needed, but it isn't worth it to me at this point. Lots of effort and time for a teeny tiny cost savings.

I'd say, not counting the outer fabric, it will cost me about $35 to make one corset.

1. We had no internet ALL DAY. Just when I was about to leave and go home to upload the postcards, it got fixed. Damn timing. But I won't be back here until Wednesday, so, whatever.

3. My guy (from 20 years ago) will be here tomorrow night for the entire holiday and this is going to be AWESOME and then we are going to Baltimore for New Years. Even if the tree is leaning and in a cardboard box and the dog is destroying the house again and people are grousing, it's going to be the best holiday EVAR.

1. Woke up early today to go look at my sister's wedding dress. Reminded me how many doubts I have about my sister getting married, and inspiried me to soon purchase this for the ignorance-is-blissful couple.

3. Father is in bed after his kidney stone retrieval surgery- all went well. On our schedule for tonight: the Drive-Through nativity at the local church, SunGroves for the creamsicle ice cream twist.

1. One of our secretaries is retiring next week, so I ordered one of these for her to be delivered Thursday, her next to last day. Now if I can get up the nerve to tell her that this fulfills a long-time desire to lei her? I'll keep you updated.

2. Working still on dealing with the theft. I'll come out OK on the phone, not so good on the 30G ipod, which they do not make anymore. The camera is now cheaper than when I bought it, even in the next upgrade. Other stuff, a wash. Still sucks though.

3. Going home soon. Wife has a migraine, which she has not had in awhile. She had ONE beer. That is ONE. And now she's blaming this headache on the hefeweizen. Anyway, I'll massage her and be her slave unless she starts acting entitled, then I'll just cease the princess treatment.

3a. One of our cats came in Monday night beaten up, and with a fever. Almost comatose. We thought he had been run over. Our (lucky to have her) housecall vet came the next morning and found that evidently there is a more badass cat on the block than ours. Bite wounds, an embedded claw, bruises, etc. He's on the mend, but I really thought we were going to lose him. He's finally eating and drinking again. Looks like he'll make it, thanks to the meds.

1. I wallpapered my bathroom two nights ago.
2. I was aggravated that I couldn't get the cloud pattern on one edge to line up with the other edge. I tried for probably a half hour with wet wallpaper.
3. I just took a piece of the scrap and held it up and found out where they match. :/

1. For the past week my boss and I have been cleaning, cleaning, cleaning the computer lab. I am sore and tired. However, today was my last day at work until January 2. Hooray for working in academia.

2. The ex picked up the kids today and will return them December 26. He was 3 hours late and didn't even call until he was already over an hour late. Grump. Although it was quite nice to just hang out with the kids and play games while we waited.

3. My fiance's birthday is in a few days and we're going to be in the midst of enjoying our longest stretch of time off together that we've had in months.
