My dad would never wear these ties, but i gotta get him something nice[More:] so i can rub his misspets in his face sorta i'm thinking armani or prada in a shirt or accessory. the shirt should be his old size because he hates fat people.
Help?
That sounds awful but it's not untrue
missteps, not misspets.
heh.

Wow. i cannot pay over $400 for a hoodie. Ever.

I wish I could help, but I don't know from designer stuff. I get most of my work shirts from Salvation Army.

If we're talking $100+ ties, I tend to prefer the thicker, more heavily textured style of, say, Drake's or Zegna over the flimsy Hermes/Ferragamo style.

Oh, there is no help. He's impossible to shop for. All he would like for five minutes is electronics he will never use at all, not mentioning to its potential or properly. The stuff he's letting waste away now, and i mean the old technology-- it staggers the reasonable mind.
Seriously, though, i am thinking something like this so if he doesn't like it, it can go to my brother to supplement his gifts. One of them is a Microbe plushie from Soapy Hollow i know we've both wanted forever (it came today.) i swear, i thought at first maybe the Three Kings soap wasn't all that, but now i am craving the smell. i think i like the free samples a bit more than some of what i got.
Must.
Sober.
Up.
Slightly.

It's too hard to pick ties online and he's picky. He likes thinner ties rather than the wide, and whenever i am mesmerized by the beauty of a tie, it ends upbeing ridiculously priced. Some of the Gucci's are okay but not stunning.
He's an ass.
To shop for, too.

Oh, i am willing to shave slices off some of these soaps after i try them on the body so people can smell them.

Also, i have a special metachat present for the lucky bunny that fits it.
i would make a proper announcement but i am tipsy and impulsive right now.
Are you a size small in overalls? Would you like special Metachat overalls in an off white with a custom black and off white design? Maybe a little sparkle?
You can look at it when i take pictures of it, dammit. Don't rush me. It's a new year's thing, and you're lucky it's not lunar new year
.

I'm thankfull that I no longer have to waer ties, but if I did I'd dig this one. Then again, I've never been accused of having good taste.

Does he wear french cuffs? For some unfathomable reason they're back - maybe he'd like some cufflinks?
posted by bmarkey 17 December | 21:22
i love them but he doesn't have any that i know of. i don't even know where my precious few cuffed shirts are. Or the other cufflinks of my few sets.
Crappity crap crap.
Bored at work?
Better than attending a code brown, i say.
i feel slightly more like amusing you than cathcnig up on my Dexters, as i know one big spoiler already (THANKS MUDPUKKY).

Any of these i would think to be generally appreciated. Opinions?
Like me he likes room at the neck, like a v neck, but they greys are nice.
Oh, it's a lost cause but nice sweaters, eh?
posted by ethylene 17 December | 22:00
Very nice sweaters. The YSL looks good (if spendy), although the crew-necks are more to my taste.

Bored at work?

Aside from the cardiac event we had here earlier, yes. Amusement would be welcomed.
posted by bmarkey 17 December | 22:04
i'd like this to eventually get to my brother but it's in the wrong size.
Pick your form of amusement.
This old computer makes me feel like it's 2002.
i may have to switch.
Or pick music.
Maybe i should treat myself to audible or some such and radio for once.

Did you have to use the paddles?

Menswear is hard. No one wants to take a chance on something striking without being heavy on the cheese. i'd love to do menswear, but women would probably wear it. i like menswear styles for women.

Someday in my mythical future, i will have a bespoke suit that will look fabulous, and then fabulous another way when you see the lining.

I would be sad if you did a radio show when I was at work. But don't let that stop you. Don't mind me; I'll just sit here in the dark. Everything's fine.

Did you have to use the paddles?

Thankfully it wasn't that far along. I didn't do much myself, other than calling 911. Those kind of things kinda crank the staff's collective adrenaline level for about an hour or so. We're back to normal now.

As far as menswear goes, I'm probably not your best sounding board. I usually dress like this.
posted by bmarkey 17 December | 22:19
That's a great pic.
i could style you up if ever there was a need.
posted by ethylene 17 December | 22:20
Well, you know, I do sort of feel as if I should dress like an adult from time to time.

And you should check out the rest of Science Girl's pictures. She's quite good, if I do say so myself.

Did you see this? Maybe something can amuse you there.
My shopping window is closing and i don't care.
posted by ethylene 17 December | 23:30
No, I hadn't seen that. Thanks for pointing it out.

If it makes you feel any better, my father can be difficult, too. I recall asking him once what he'd like for Xmas; his response, in his gruff cigar-shredded voice, was "Hell, I could be dead by then". Now I just fund a goat from Heifer in mom and dad's name.

i'd love to but he gets violently upset at the idea of charity. i'd like to donate something that doesn't get eaten. Much better than a sweater. Maybe i could weave it into an elaborate joke.
Eh.
Tired.

i could give everyone the bees...hmm...
posted by ethylene 18 December | 00:08
An excellent idea.

Also, my sister and her husband got bunnies.
