Yeah, too many high school memories here, too. That's probably why I've never watched the movie.

Sweet Emotion! Cool! Can someone please put Aerosmith out of their misery? They've not produced a great album since Pump and I really don't see them getting any better.

Not enough high school memories there... but I had the misfortune of attending a boys-only Catholic high school (as a non-Cath - I got my only firsthand education about being a discriminated minority) where you had to get off-campus to get into any kind of enjoyable trouble. Which was why I played in the school Band, which had an affiliated Drill Squad from an all-girls school and did marching band competitions (won more often than the football team and the busrides back were the wildest party environment available to me). There's a teen movie somewhere in that, but I ain't writing it (at least not until the Writers' Strike ends).

As great movie opening sequences go, this is one of my favorites.

Definitely with you here. I've had the same thought before - it sets all the characters up in this very short span of time.
