Club Penguin is like Second Life for little kids. My youngest daughter loves it.

I had never heard of any of those either, except for webkinz, which are huge with the under 10 crowd here in the US. I worked for a company that had a retail store a few years ago, and on an almost daily basis, some mom or kid would call and breathlessly ask if we carried webkinz. We didn't, and I would suggest that they try going to webkinz.com to use the store locator on the site. I was always stuck by how no one used the web to help them find webkinz, which are little animals that live both in the real world and on the web.

OMG, hi5 is the corniest thing evah. They show the Canadian version here on the Discovery Channel. It's like a musical kids show directed by Corky Sherwood with costumes by some first-level Project Runway reject.

I think they call it Hi5 because you have to get a serious five-star high going to truly appreciate it. (Warning: Link has loud, catchy music.)

The reason people call breathlessly about webkinz is that the darn things die if you don't 'feed' them online (sort of like the old tomagotchi, but online), and not only that - they have a limited lifespan - a year? 18 months? - and they expire. Wailing indulged child with expired webkinz = breathless call to store....

I must confess probably it was mostly me who caused the Vanessa Hudgens spike in Q3. I looked at those pictures repeatedly.
