web host so i'm thinking of changing my current host. i use host excellence and pay $60 per year.[More:]

do you guys now of a cheaper/better hosting service?

my site is pretty minimal, with no large files and hardly any traffic. i keep it away from search engine spiders and use it for webby stuff for work/friends/family/fun.

i've had absolutely no problems with these guys, and prompt customer service too.

wondering if there is anything better out there.

bunnies?
ugh i dunno how more inside works on mecha. hope me?

NearlyFreeSpeech.net

Expensive if you have lots of space and lots of page clicks, but for my tiny little personal site I pay pennies a year. I can't attest to their customer service, or downtime, because neither are too important to me.

That NearlyFreeSpeech.net looks pretty interesting. Anyone know any downsides for it, in regards to domain registration and a low bandwidth site?

I host a very low traffic site there and I haven't had any problem.

Ok, I have three friends who swear by laughingsquid, and back when I just needed much smaller spaces but all the telnetty/mysql/cgi-scripty goodness I simply adored he.net where 5 bucks (now ten, it was ten years ago) brought you more than any other host at the time. He.net was amazingly never-ever down. Laughinsquid has been down once for like three minutes in the past year, which is totally nothing.

(I've sent many pals to he.net since I moved away from there and they loved it and stayed.)

Best (and worst) ways to let someone down (as) easy (as possible). || Did anyone ever fold notes like this in grade school?
