I posted my cards this morning. There were a lot, mostly being sent to North America and Australia. The cost of postage was horrendous, as there were 12 calendars being posted, mostly to my Ohio friends. But my Christmas expenses are not high, as I'm not spending £500 on booze as in the Days of Christmas Past ...

Man, that sounds like a nice day. Y'all are done with your cards? Yeesh, I've only made a list...and addressed 2 of them. Haven't got the tree yet. And have to be at work at 3:00 to bring other people Christmas joy.

I'd love to have a tamale-eating party this month, but sanity says don't. It's too much to try and do when I'll be working every day until Christmas, bar two.

I might do a small-scale thing on Monday night where I send a kamikaze invite to a few friends and invite them to trim the tree, if they can make it, and drink Mexican hot chocolate.

Mexican hot chocolate? What all does that involve?

We're planning on going to Christkindlmarket today. I'm going to have potato pancakes and get a Kinder Uberraschung Egg. And I'm going to continue working on my Christmas cards.

My parents have a one-eyed cat (he lost it because of an injury by another cat when he was a kitten.) He's an awesome cat.

Ooooh....Mexican hot chocolate. Ever since a vacation in Oaxaca I have been hooked! Thanks, now that's all I'm going to have a taste for today.

We've already been to the vet for our cat's newly acquired limp. She ruptured her ACL, which will take a few months to fully heal, and it's going to kill me everytime I watch her walk. I think it might be bothering me more than it is her.

We never got around to sending out the cards we bought last year, so hopefully tomorrow we'll get cracking on getting those out. I still have to put the Christmas lights out, which is a pain, but it's the one bit of decorating that really makes me happy when it's done. I always get a little sad when it's time to take them down.

And youngergirl44 - I've been so caught up in real world craziness that I forgot about Christkindlmarket! Hopefully I'll have time to get there druing the week.

Let's see...

I've been to the gym, done laundry, tidied the apartment, watched an episode of The Wire (S4) and had lunch. mr. g just went to work and I'm off to the Met to pick up a couple of Christmas gifts. Then I will get some hot chocolate and come home to start writing holiday cards (they arrived today! yay!) At about 5ish, I'll do an hour or so of work, then mr. g will get home and we will have a beer and watch another Wire episode. Then we will order Indian food for dinner, I'll do some more holiday cards while mr. g plays on the computer, and about 9ish we'll go for a walk, maybe stopping off for a beer at our local. Then home and in bed by 11 or so. mmmm cozy.

Those of you who are New Yorkers, have you ever checked out Union Square holiday market? I went a couple of years ago and found it was completely awesome. Less emphasis on umbrellas and crappy Chinese-made scarves, more on original art and crafty stuff. Affordable, too.

A little bit...the farmers' market is also there four days a week year round.

Go to the gym,
grab lunch at the yummy sammich place at the mall,
sneakily wrap my boyfriend's two birthday gifts,
find cheesecloth to strain all of the vanilla we made for Christmas gifts,
(which means I need to design the bottle labels this weekend too so we can get them in the mail tomorrow),
finish signing Christmas cards,
get cash from the ATM for poker tonight.

Yeah, Miko, I go there every Christmas. Used to live 2 blocks away so it was hard to avoid!
