Christmas on Sesame Street Behold, as YouTube resurrects the dead and gives you back your childhood.[More:]

Christmas Eve on Sesame Street: This PBS special first aired in 1978 and was offered on PBS for several years after that. This is potent stuff: Bert and Ernie skate at Rockefeller Center, Bob sings in ASL with the kids and his sweetie Linda, Mr. Looper, I mean Hooper, plays Santa in Bert & Ernie's Magi story, and the Grouch tries to mess with Big Bird. This holds up very, very well.

Bonus! Not quite as good: A Special Sesame Street Christmas [1978] (features Anne Murray with a touching live rendition of "You Needed Me"! Also Michael Jackson! Ethel Merman! Leslie Uggams! and many more!):

Thanks, Miko, it's one of my favorites.

Somehow, I never saw this, even though I loved Sesame Street growing up. Thanks, Miko!

That reminds me of this AskMe answer. I kind of choked up watching the ASL song. The sign is simple enough that I fully understand all of it and it's just sweet.
