Help me think of famous people... →[More:]...who have an equally famous dog that goes everywhere with them. The only ones I can think of at the moment are Paul O'Grady and Buster and Rick Stein and Chalkie

Is there anyone else who is well known for bringing their dog everywhere?

There's Paris Hilton and Tinkerbell. Although I suppose Tinkerbell isn't equally famous. Equally talented, but maybe not equally famous.

Although Tinkerbell did write a book.

George H.W. and Barbara Bush's dog also wrote a book. So did Bill and Hillary Clinton's, if memory serves. You can fill in the ironic quotation marks yourself, in those two sentences.

Are fictional characters okay?

Is it cheating a bit if they're blind? UK politician David Blunkett had Lucy, who got a fair bit of media attention.

A lot of the pop starlets bring their dogs everywhere. Whether that makes the dog as famous as then, I can't really say.

I think a dog qualifies if its famous enough that we know its name, like Tinkerbell and Oprah's dog Sophie (who I just thought of).

box - I'd forgotten about the Clinton's cat Socks and the Bush's dog (whose name I can't remember).

Martha Stewart has or had Paw-Paw (Masha hates Paw Paw).

Oprah had/has her labs (?) she just lost one and wrote about it.

I guess they don't travel everywhere though.

FDR had Fala.

Bush I's dog was Millie. Current Bush has Spotty, Barney, and Miss Beazley.
Don't forget Richard Nixon and Checkers!

And my personal favorite, JFK had Charlie, a Welshie! : )

Thurman Murman. I'm embarrassed that I even know this. It's Rachel Bilson's dog. It's a cute dog and has a fun name.
