Annual Performance Review Day →[More:]It went fine, as I expected it would. I actually sent the appointment to the boss, just to get it done and over with, as I really hate the anticipation. It really, really feels good to have it done, and to hear some nice things, as well as have some renewed focus on work. Now I can screw off!

When I worked for the university (during the UC System's dire financial straits during which the poor regents were held to only $150,000 annual raises), campus sent a memo regretting to inform us that staff would not be receiving the usual cost-of-living raise. (For the third year straight.)

This coincided with performance review time. And as part of that process, we were "required" to do lengthy self-evaluations as well -- the purpose of which was ostensibly to determine the amount of your raise.

Guess whether I did mine.
