Wow that is LOW. It's so mean that I really want to believe that it's made up.

Aw at the Strand story on the side.
posted by iconomy 28 November | 10:59
Sadly, it is very believable.

And yeah, ico, bookstores are the most romantic thing I can think of. . .

What will happen when the women with the original reservation show up and the evil bride is already there with her party?
posted by initapplette 28 November | 11:08
Heh, well the seriously was meant to follow chrismear's comment, but I guess it will do after brujita's.

I admire her courage.

Wow. That really blows puke chunks!

Also, that dude in front of Strand kinda looks like he's making an ineffectual attempt to tackle that woman.

Fighting, I hope! Wish I could be there...

Bridezillas with hairdryers...

What a bitch, but I loved the bookshop story.

Thanks to the evil self-centered bride on one side, and the heartwarming bookstore tale on the other, this link leaves my faith in humanity unchanged.

The Strand story is cool until they get to the part abut the 1.3K platinum-set diamond.

This actually happened to someone on a wedding message board I occasionally read. She showed up and another bride was already there, "Oh, we can't find your reservation... if you wait we'll try to fit you in after this group."

No fighting, though. Just dirty looks.
posted by muddgirl 28 November | 11:49
The fact that they would even post that means they either realize how much of an ass they are and want some absolution or they're giggling over their "cleverness."

Gah.

Exactly. Anything under 2K isn't worth mentioning.

I don't quite understand this, either. I thought maybe the OP actually called the other bride pretending to be the salon, and cancelling from the salon side of the equation. That way she wouldn't be showing up.
posted by Miko 28 November | 12:26
I doubt she would have thought it through that well, Miko. That's terrible - the bridal party with the genuine appointment will have to scramble to find another place to have their hair done with no notice whatsoever.
posted by Orange Swan 28 November | 12:30
This stunt may have repercussions for the salon, too. The bride whose reservation was cancelled may just choose to badmouth the salon all over town.
posted by initapplette 28 November | 13:03
Don't people this evil already have their own evil hairdressers deep inside their missile silos of evil?

Oh her husband is one lucky man. I bet they've got years of happiness and warmth ahead of them. *eyeroll*

She may be ruining someone's wedding day and she's bragging about it? That really is just truly awful.
posted by Specklet 28 November | 14:59
The rebuttal! Give that a "Me Too" to put that evil monster in her place.
posted by ThePinkSuperhero 28 November | 16:58
Yaaaaar!

I hate a world where there are bridal parties that need their hair done.

I also hate a world where there is salon guerrilla warfare.

I hate a world where this matters in the least.

Yes, America is in tatters. Come take us over now.

Now that she's taken this well-considered step, I feel confident that her wedding will be 100% perfect, and that she will be satisfied completely.

We did for my sister's wedding. But it was more a "it'll be fun" girl bonding thing than anything else. None of us even did the same style.
