My car just got broken into.
Ah, damn, I'm sorry to hear that. What happened?

Sorry to hear that. Bad things happen to good people, but people who love beaters laugh in the face of adversity.

Probably someone jonesin' for a fix. It's a stupid old world.

Man, that's infuriating. My car used to get harvested for parts almost weekly, but I never got over that feeling of having my personal space violated. The violent fantasies were most of what held me together during those dire times.... Get to know your beat cops. They may be your only recourse.

Ha paulsc! I drive one and I never worry about dings or anyone stealing it b/c it looks like hell. The insides are decent still though.

Bummer ikkyu2. Did they get anything?

That sucks... will your insurance cover the missing stuff and the damage?

I suppose, if you want to look on the bright side, you could be grateful only your stereo or whatever is gone, and the whole car isn't in some chop shop.

I was reading an article in the (online) paper a few weeks ago about a rogue tow truck ring that was brazenly towing away cars in the middle of the day and taking them to chop shops/scrap yards. The cars were often torn apart within a couple hours - before the owner even knew the car was gone.

I mention this because they specifically targeted beaters; police believe it's because the owners of the beaters were less likely to pursue getting the car back, they often didn't have insurance, etc.

Fucking sucks, man.

Sorry.

Whoa! Sorry to hear it. Hope you didn't lose too much. Dicks or desperate people or a bit of both.

Oh man. I'm sorry to hear that, ikkyu2, especially as it happened to me last week and now I know the pain.

Hell. I'm sorry.

Yrrr! I hope that nothing you treasure was taken.

Having carefully inventoried the car, they didn't take *anything*.

I didn't realize this had posted, by the way - browser glitch - so I gave up on it and went to bed.
