What are some good formats for travel blogs? Mostly photographs, with occasional bursts of text. All suggestions are welcome.
I too would love to know this.
But then again I don't think my stupid wordpress blog will allow me to use templates that I can't choose from a list. :(
I'm not sure what you mean by 'format', since most blogs seem to follow the same one....newest post at the top, blog in center, extra links and whatnot on a sidebar. Did you mean more like what's a good design? If so, I think maps or having the pages look like pages of an actual journal might be interesting.
I love this one travelogue called Vagabonding. If you click up top left where it says travelogue (I dig nested menus), you're transporting to an entry just about that one place. I love how that top little snippet changes to show a cockroach or a bottle cap or a coin that was photographed in the place you're reading about.
Sorry, had to step away for a few hours. Yeah, the typical reverse chronological order blog doesn't seem right. I'd like something that's a bit more linear, maybe something with chapters. Vagabonding's not bad. I like how the photos sit to the right of the paragraphs. More ideas are welcome!
I used travelpod and I LOVED it. It does everything! It's free, too! It even keeps a map of your itinerary every day so that the people reading it can follow along and learn geography. I had about 200 people reading it along the way and it was a huge hit.
