Since Monday, I have been looking foward to using my lunch hour today to finish up a book for one of my courses. Did I bring that book with me to work today? Of course not. I guess I will instead use today's lunch hour to learn distance speed reading.
What about teaching yourself time travel?

Also a possibility.

Not really. Because if you could teach yourself time travel, Future Occhi would probably have stopped by and said, "Hey...you should totally learn time travel" by now.

Perhaps the time just wasn't ripe before now. Maybe I wasn't ready until I attained some sort of knowledge or skill that I had not perfected until just this moment, like.... um.... huh. No clue.

But I'm sure it will be GRAVELY IMPORTANT when the correct moment comes!

Actually, most disturbing is that I don't actually have *any* book to read during lunch. What will I do???

More importantly, what's for lunch?

occhiblu, I'd gladly share my Tom Robbins novel with you. Assuming I was there and you liked Tom Robbins, that is.

I sometimes forget to bring a book to read at lunch, and it never ceases to annoy as it means I either have to A: fend off the lunch hour with the Denver Post sports page (bleh) or B: listen to a bunch of (fiftysomething, male) plant site operators deconstruct Judge Judy and General Hospital episodes (ARGH! EW!) in the break room.

I very much like Tom Robbins.

It turns out, however, that I had stashed a few magazines in my bag, so I was saved! Hurrah!

And lunch was a sandwich with slow-roasted pork, shredded red cabbage, and sliced jalapenos with spicy mustard, and a so-so potato salad. I did not make any of it myself. The sandwich was very good.
