I stood next to him at the Berlin Zoo in April. It's weird being near a guy you recognize simply because he plays with a polar bear all day.

I do kind of understand the zookeeper's position - especially in terms of not wanting The Public to get the idea that polar bears are just great fuzzy play pets, and you should go rub their tummy if you ever see one. But on the other hand, between these two, especially if it has nothing to do with photo ops, he should probably not interfere. Nicht, nicht!

OMG that bear is cute. Sooo cute.

I remember when I was a child wanting more than anything on earth to go to London Zoo to see Pipaluk the baby polar bear. I never got to go but I remember seeing him on TV, I believe on 'Blue Peter'.

Pipaluk's dead now :-(
