GAAAAAAAAAAH. I just got *none* of the classes I wanted for spring semester. What the fucking fuckity fuck.
Heh. No, all the same classes (everyone in my group does the same sequence of classes), just all with professors that I previously had and found completely annoyingly unhelpful.
What a freakin' waste of time, and money. I want to cry.
The program is pretty tiny, and most of the classes this year are 8-10 students. Which I guess is why waiting THIRTY SECONDS after registration started meant that I got none of the classes I wanted.
It just sucks sucks sucks sucks. Sucks.
Have you clicked with any of your classmates? Can you commiserate together?
Probably, but right now I'm mad at them for taking my spots in the classes! :-)
I keep hoping (and refreshing the page), and who knows, maybe someone will drop before January, but I kind of doubt it. There's been enormous complaining about so many of the professors that I can't really imagine anyone who snapped up the useful ones are going to let them go.
And at this point, almost all the sections are full, so I'm not sure how someone would switch out, anyway.
Hmmm, it seems they might up the number of students in each course later on today...

Sigh.
I am always slightly shocked when occhiblu says 'fuck'.
Really? I used to swear a lot. I've stopped swearing as much, though it wasn't really a conscious decision, so I think I still think of myself as someone who swears a lot.
Actually, switching the one course I was able to switch has me in a much better mood; that was the one I was worried about being completely useless if I couldn't get a decent professor.
Taking a semester off is not really an option for a number of reasons, both personal and professional. And I've been even more appalled at how other schools seem to be under-preparing their students, so transferring doesn't seem like a great option, either.
Really, I'm just a total snob at this point about the quality of teaching at this place. If I'm going to be spending two-and-a-half hours listening to someone, they better be worth listening to.
As my old co-worker Reggie once said 'College ain't nothin' but a get over.' Just get the sheepskin and go do your thing your way and make mad ducats. This is just the dues-paying.
What the fuck? Classes aren't Ticketmaster tickets. Would it kill these fuckheads to implement a fucking lottery?
SERIOUSLY. I can't IMAGINE how frustrating it must be for students who don't have jobs (or lack of jobs) that allow them to sit in front of their computer at the exact right time every semester. It's the dumbest registration system I've ever seen. (Plus, it was giving me anxiety dreams last night. Way to go, mental health program!)
