Tomorrow I leave for my big spa weekend. Can't wait! So what's everyone else up to this weekend?
Working part of tomorrow, then going to a friend's photo exhibit opening tomorrow night. Sunday, laundry and/or going out to take photos, depending on the weather and my mood.
Video games and beer in between those, as time allows.
Not many plans, really. It's gonna be a couch weekend (with lots of cleaning, too). Watch a lot of movies. Steeling myself to rewatch Dead Ringers, which mr. g hasn't seen. Then also Becket, and back episodes of Scrubs and How I met your mother.
An old boyfriend of mine (and a VIB - very important boyfriend - not just a minor league one) from college, who I haven't seen in 10 years, is coming to stay with me for the weekend. I am a little nervous, to put it mildly, but it will probably just be plain old fun with no heavy overtones. I hope. I think I hope. All I know is that this damn cold which keeps threatening to turn into total misery had better not do that until Monday.
That, mgl, is a VEW - very exciting weekend! Wowy wow wow wow. Hooo-boy.
Me - the play I directed is closing tomorrow so me and my two best boys are going to that (I haven't seen it in a few weeks) and to the cast party. And tackling the study to be able to turn it into a doggie rehab room, and housework and football football football and studying for a work exam.
Hm. Judging moot court. Going to a baby's first birthday party. Having a blind date. Baking cookies for the pub quiz team. Trying to catch the midnight movie. Considering seeing Cracker--if it's not sold out, if I don't go to the midnight movie, if I don't decide that going out alone sucks. Making lunches for all week. I should do condo projects, but that's unlikely to happen.
Feeling sick, probably for most of it. I've eaten almost nothing but toast and bananas for the last four days. Fretting about my GI appointment on Wednesday. If I can manage to convince myself not to feel sick for long enough, going to see Stars at the Orpheum.
Scratch that. Doping myself up enough with whatever it takes to be able to go to that goddamn concert.
And probably some Warcraft and work and emailing old professors about letters of recommendation.
Tomorrow: up early to to get to the bank to pay in the cheque my sister sent me. Yes, I am amazed.
I also need to buy some new winter shoes. In Vegas last year I bought these, and wore them just about every single day from October to March. But I wore them on Monday and I couldn't believe how much the balls of my feet were burning. I've spent the summer in Crocs, sandals and Reeboks so I think the soles of my feet have probably softened up. I'm looking at a pair of eccos - this style. I have a mile to walk to and from the station most days, so a good pair of shoes is essential.
I also need a better backpack, the one I use to tote my files isn't too comfortable. I want to find one that's lightweight, yet has some structure to it, so I'll probably go to a camping store rather than a luggage store to look for that.
Also, Christmas shopping, either tomorrow or Sunday, because the following weekend I'm going up to my sister's for our Christmas visit.
I need to make the cats like me again too. Today was their annual visit to Alistair, their vet, for their annual boosters and checkups. Lucy is 100% healthy. Bailey has a slight heart murmur, on a scale of 1-10 it's a 2. But the chance of her ever doing anything that might raise her heart rate is pretty remote. Alistair used to live very close to me (his garden backed onto mine) but he moved last year. His cat Stanley was Bailey's boyfriend, he used to visit her every day. I miss him, he's a lovely cat. Alistair told me he dressed as Uncle Fester for Halloween. "I didn't need much of a costume." He's a good vet, and a top bloke too.
chuckd: I dare you yell out a request for "Summer of '69".
Tonight, I'll probably go see some pals' band play. Tomorrow, I'm hoping to go on a nice long bike ride while there's some warmth and daylight. Tomorrow night, probably hobnob with some pals. Sunday, ditto.
Somewhere in there, I'll go to the grocery store, visit a friend's art show, play Guitar Hero 3 and Bomberman Live, read a couple books and take a nap.
Geez, everyone's been infected with the MetaCrud. I hope you all feel better.
I'm going to try to relax, but I'm really bad at it. I'll probably end up grilling the masseuse the whole time. "So...how did you get into massage? Do you like it? Don't your hands hurt? blah blah blah..."
