AskMecha - How do I view stuff on sites that are blocked to Canadian viewers?[More:]More specifically - I'd like to see episodes of House MD at Fox.com and they don't want me to see them.

I believe there are sites I can go through but I don't know which sites and I'm not sure how to search for them.

I must feed my House addiction.

TIAKTHXBAI!!11!
You need a proxy server (and one that is US based, naturally). If you google for "free proxy server" you should find something suitable. Note that some of these services can be rather iffy. For example, because they relay info between you and the sites you browse, they shouldn't be trusted with any sensitive information like, say, credit card details. Caveat emptor (& whatever the Latin for "browser" is).

I have experienced similar frustration with US TV company web sites, and my favourite response is to download episodes of their programs and watch them without adverts before they appear locally. Take that, you xenophobic content providers!

I have, and on occasion use, BitTorrent but it's a hassle to find episodes and it takes forever for them to download.

Thanks for the tips, GeckoDundee!

Crap. I've tried several of them using Firefox and IE and I still can't get through (loading, loading, loading...).

Back to BitTorrent I guess.
