Morning predators. It's foggy here, and the sun has just barely risen enough to give some light; the beginning of the rainy season has brought back all the green to the landscape, and with the dark misty fog it looks very Jurassic. [More:] As I was looking out the window into all this, a huge hawk swept onto a pole in the backyard, paused, then dove straight into the bushes next door.

My cat saw the last bit out of the window. She looked impressed enough that I'm thinking this will stop her daily mewing at the back door, hoping we'll change our policy and let her outside.
Hee. I can imagine the feline thought process: "Big bird. Must catch and eat big bird. Oh shit. Big bird. Hide. Under bed."

In NYC, the weather seems to finally discovered that it's almost November. Running errands a bit ago, I had to put on a jacket. This sucks cause I wanted to hang out on the porch.

It's rainy and windy here today. The high is only 74.

74 isn't bad at all. But it's been hot, hot, hot. I welcome this breezy cool, rainy weather.

I won't even say what the hawks do in my backyard.
