I don't feel well. I want oatmeal raisin cookies. Can anyone recommend good store-bought oatmeal cookies? Preference is chewy.
Feel free to discuss other cookie-related business here.
I tend not to like prepackaged cookies, but on the rare occasion that I do, I like the soft Pepperidge Farm cookies, specifically any of the kinds that have macadamia nuts in them.
I am looking forward to trying out various pignoli recipes this weekend, in order to find one I really like. But I might make honey-pumpkin cookies instead; that is, if I don't make pumpkin bread pudding.
I would like very much to spend the next two weeks in my kitchen, just cooking things.
I'm a baker and not generally a fan of prepackaged cookies. That said, Matt's cookies are pretty tasty, and the oatmeal-raisin ones are soft. Not sure if they're available in your area though. Good luck finding the cookie you're after. Feel better soon.
I like raisins in oatmeal cookies. I like chocolate chips in oatmeal cookies. I like peanut butter and mini m&ms in oatmeal cookies. I also like cookies that have no oatmeal in them. The Intelligentsia in the Loop has a good cookie supplier.
But tonight, I made brownies. With pecans. For the pub quiz team.
Pepperidge Farm cookies are the chewiest store-bought cookies, hands down.
I used to owrk in one of their factories. The one that made bread and rolls, not cookies. A lot of the older guys who worked there were missing fingers. Pepperidge Fahm Dismembahs!
Chocolate chips do NOT, I say NOT belong in oatmeal cookies. Raisins do, especially when you've tweaked the recipe with some cinnamon and some apple sauce.
Trader Joe's cookies are OK as far as prepackaged goes.
Cowboy cookies (mix a little oil and eggs like mayonnaise, add sugars, some flour with leavening, oatmeal and chocolate chips) are like unto ambrosia. But not with applesauce. Or cinnamon. Eww.
