This thread is about cookies. [More:]

I don't feel well. I want oatmeal raisin cookies. Can anyone recommend good store-bought oatmeal cookies? Preference is chewy.

Feel free to discuss other cookie-related business here.
I could go for a chewy oatmeal cookie. Or a soft, warm sugar cookie. Mmmmm, sugar cookies.

I tend not to like prepackaged cookies, but on the rare occasion that I do, I like the soft Pepperidge Farm cookies, specifically any of the kinds that have macadamia nuts in them.

I am looking forward to trying out various pignoli recipes this weekend, in order to find one I really like. But I might make honey-pumpkin cookies instead; that is, if I don't make pumpkin bread pudding.

I would like very much to spend the next two weeks in my kitchen, just cooking things.

Pepperidge Farm cookies are the chewiest store-bought cookies, hands down.

2nd SassHat. Perhaps the cookie could be put in the microwave or oven, too. MMM, with ice cold milk.

Um, Sasshat, that's maca-mah-damia nuts.

(damn you Homer)

I'm a baker and not generally a fan of prepackaged cookies. That said, Matt's cookies are pretty tasty, and the oatmeal-raisin ones are soft. Not sure if they're available in your area though. Good luck finding the cookie you're after. Feel better soon.

Uh, not that I'm not one of the MetElite, but where are you? No sense giving you impossible cookie recommendations!

I agree with smich - Matt's are my favorite store-bought-non-Oreo cookies.

Never seen Matt's out here in NoCal. Just got back from the store with some Peppridge Farm and some tea. And now, the couch beckons.

Won't most grocery stores have store-baked cookies in the bakery section? You know, in those clear plastic trays. Those are usually decent.

You can't just start a thread about cookies and bail when you get yours. You have to wait until we all have our cookies.

Damn you, mudpuppie.

I just had a few chocolate chip cookies.

My grocery store does, yes, but they only have chocolate chip (and they're not that good; they're cakey). Today's an oatmeal day, dammit!

/me hands mullacc a cookie

Raisins are evil. Cookies with raisins are an abominable creation (I guess, I haven't tasted them).

I love raisins, but raisins do not belong in oatmeal cookies.

Also, Potbelly's has amazingly good chocolate-chip oatmeal mini-cookies. Highly recommended.

I like raisins in oatmeal cookies. I like chocolate chips in oatmeal cookies. I like peanut butter and mini m&ms in oatmeal cookies. I also like cookies that have no oatmeal in them. The Intelligentsia in the Loop has a good cookie supplier.

But tonight, I made brownies. With pecans. For the pub quiz team.

I used to owrk in one of their factories. The one that made bread and rolls, not cookies. A lot of the older guys who worked there were missing fingers. Pepperidge Fahm Dismembahs!

No, but they do belong in oatmeal raisin cookies :P

This thread is useless without actual cookies. Hope you feel better soon, mudpuppie.

Those were extra yummy rolls.

Chocolate chips do NOT, I say NOT belong in oatmeal cookies. Raisins do, especially when you've tweaked the recipe with some cinnamon and some apple sauce.

Trader Joe's cookies are OK as far as prepackaged goes.

Now I'm in the mood for homemade snickerdoodles.

Cowboy cookies (mix a little oil and eggs like mayonnaise, add sugars, some flour with leavening, oatmeal and chocolate chips) are like unto ambrosia. But not with applesauce. Or cinnamon. Eww.

After googling I finally know what oatmeal is. One thing less from my 'things to know before dying'.

With Archway cookies you can pretend it's high school and you just gave blood.
