"Is there anybody alive out there??" [More:]

"Girls in their summer clothes, they pass me by..."

Two excellent songs from the new Boss platter, the best he's done IMHO since Born In The USA. And I'll give you the main reason why: The E Street Band. Bruce is a brilliant songwriter and great singer, but the folks behind him are one of teh crucial ingredients in what makes his best music so incredible. So, Roy Bittan, Max Weinberg, Danny Federici, Nils Lofgren, Clarence Clemons, Patti Scialfa, Garry Tallent and Miami Steve Van Zandt...mad props to you all folks.
Apparently, Jon Stewart went that same concert...

So I'm told. I bet he had better seats.

I heard John Stuart Mill was there, too.

He was at the same Cardinals show I saw in Columbus in 2005... I guess he likes going to shows.

He clearly wants to be in touch with the spirit of the age.

There's nobody gives a better concert than the Boss.

This stuff does sound good. I've always liked his E Street Band stuff better than his solo Americana tangents.

Agreed about the E Street band on this album...they shine.

I have to admit I don't like the Brendan O'Brien treatment, though. It's like he throws a big soft blanket over their explosive sounds.

Someone else pointed this out to me, but good LORD! does Girls In Their Summer Clothes sound like it could have been written by Stephin Merritt.
