It was very small so it wasn't a problem... this time. *cue some sinister music*
However there have been times where I've woken up with my pillow and my face covered with big spots of dried blood. Fun times.
No allergies.
Anyway, this time was like 'I'm your blood, don't forget me, bye'. As soon as I noticed, it stopped bleeding.
Happened to me once, too. Went through the whole list of possible medical causes in my sleep, but then decided that I must've just sleepnosepicked. Simple!
Kinda like when I had what I thought was a grossly bloody bowel movement. Panic set in about a bunch of sinister medical causes for it when I remembered that I had eaten Red Hot Cheetos in the recent past. Simple. Disgusting.
Bleh. I grew up in SoCal and frequently suffered from the damned things. Living in an area with more humidity makes them a rare (not even yearly) occurrence. I was told it was thin skin in me nose and the doc could cauterize it which might help. Uh, thanks but no thanks.
I once was rudely awakened by a milk-crate full of books to the face from about 6 feet up.
Thankfully I was pretty still pretty drunk from the night before when it fell on me and busted my nose, so I didn't really feel it and thankfully I woke up when I was coughing trying to swallow all that blood.
There wasn't a whole lot I could do about it. I grabbed a t-shirt, pinched my nose and waited for it to stop. Had to set it myself, which was straight forward enough if very odd, as I could hear the ends of the bone grind a little as they re-mated like two puzzle pieces. It didn't really hurt, particularly, but that's probably because my whole face just hurt in general, like it'd been whacked with a bat. Took like 30 minutes for it to finally clot properly, and then I rolled over on my side and went back to sleep.
My whole face was sore for a month afterwards, and the wearing of glasses as it healed seems to have embedded mild divots where the eyepads hit the bridge of my nose, which seems to make my glasses stay on my face better, even nearly a year later.
This is actually an appreciated modification, because they were always sliding down.
